DIY & NOTD - Henna Tattoo Nails

Friday, June 22, 2012

There I was, sitting in my room deciding on what I should do with my nails when I spotted a pack of temporary henna tattoos. This brought me back to when I was little, I used to go the dollar store and buy nail tattoos, the ones with happy panda heads, rainbows, sunflowers etc. so I decided to kind of recreate these easy peasy tattoo nails.
The nail polishes I used were Wet n Wild megalast in Need a Refresh-Mint and a clear polish also from Wet n Wild. I purchased the temporary henna tattoos at a nearby dollar store, but any kind of arm tattoos will work too :).
1. I measured each of my nail lengths with the tattoo strip, cut them out and laid them in order so I wouldn't confuse the different sized tattoos.
2. I painted my nails two coats of blue and waited for the two coats to completely dry.
3. To prepare for the tattoos, I soaked a cotton ball with water and applied the tattoos one nail at a time. The great thing about temporary tattoos is that if one design gets smooshed or is crooked, you can peel it off a bit to fix it or peel it off completely without ruining the nail polish coats.

4. When you are happy with the tattoos on your nails, apply a clear top coat and you're done! :)
I really hope you enjoyed the nails and the instructions were easy to follow. If you tried these nails or temporary tattoo nails, I would love to see how yours turned up on a blog post (link in the comments below) or by email! :)
