SKINCARE - Biore Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub and Cleanser
Time for another Influenster VoxBox! Man, it's been a long time since I got one of these. This VoxBox features Biore's new Baking Soda Line with the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser and the Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub.
I've always been a fan of Biore cleansers and always find myself going back tot them, so it was really interesting to try the new baking soda line. Baking soda can sound a bit harsh for the skin, but surprisingly both the cleanser and scrub are super gentle on the skin.
The Baking Soda Pore Cleanser is gentle, scentless, lathers up really well and has little bead-like lumps for exfoliating. It does a fairly decent job in removing make up, but I would remove heavy make up before using this cleanser. I have no complaints about this cleanser, or Biore cleansers in general for that matter. Although it seems like a small detail, I love how easy it is to use - just pump and cleanse!
The Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub is just as gentle of a scrub, has a light citrus scent and lathers up quite well. The process of using the scrub is a bit unique - with a wet face, pour out a quarter size amount of powder and add water until it becomes the desired consistency/lather. I like that the powder to water ratio is customizable which may be better for those with sensitive skin, but if you're lazy like me, that's just one extra step too many. I would not use this everyday but it definitely is gentle enough to use up to every other day. One thing I'm not a fan about is that it leaves a slimy feel for the first couple minutes after use - sort of like a layer of film on the skin.
What do you think about using baking soda in cleansers?
