Whoa this box is a high value box! I'm not sure of the prices are right on the product cards, but if so I am definitely impressed with the 5 full sized products. Every product in this box is a hit and I look forward to using them all. I'm especially excited for the mask and of course the nail polish. $30 CAD for almost $100 worth of product is amazing. I feel like the box is only great because it's the December box and we are expecting a bit more from them. This is a great second box from Glossybox, but unfortunately my budget doesn't allow for $30 monthly boxes and this will be my last box from them.

If you're interested in subscribing to Glossybox, I would really appreciate it if you used my referral link here. :)

On December 12, Caryl Baker Visage in Yorkville had it's grand opening! Just in case you didn't know, Visage Yorkville specializes in facial services. Visage Yorkville invited all of their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram followers to the event. The event included refreshments of Pink sparkling wine, macarons, chocolates, pink roses and a free eyebrow waxing if you took a selfie at the mini runway set-up. Keep reading and find out how awesome Visage Yorkville is!
Lovely ladies working at Visage Yorkville
Kylab is the owner of this location and she was there to greet me and make me feel super special. Joshua, a manager at Visage, gave me a small tour and showed me the two private waxing rooms. My coat was taken, I was offered refreshments and took some pictures with Kylab. Although I was short on time, Kylab quickly waxed my eyebrows for me. What I love about Visage is the excellent service they provide. Before Kylab started waxing my eyebrows, she showed me where they should start, arch and end and where and how much she would be waxing. I don't get my eyebrows waxed, so it was great to know what was going to happen to my eyebrows.
During our conversation, she mentioned that the health inspector was extremely impressed with the store, and showed me the organized and clean drawers where the supplies are kept. Every tool is sanitized and sticks and wax strips are disposed immediately after use. The wax used for facial waxing is actually facial wax and not body wax which some salons use to save on costs.

After the eyebrow waxing, Kylab proceeded to apply makeup to cover up the redness and told me which products she used (she used the BB cream and it was amazing!). Visage would never let their customers walk out with redness from waxing, something which my friend often complains about when getting a facial waxing, which sets them apart from many waxing salons. I mean, you're walking in Yorkville, that is probably the last thing you want on your face.
I booked a full facial waxing for the following weekend and I'm so glad I did. The waxing was painless, it honestly just felt like someone was scratching my face. While waxing my lips, they applied a layer of vaseline so the wax wouldn't stick to the skin and in turn hurt less. For the facial waxing, Josh used an electric tool, which had a sound similar to an electrocution chair, but tested it on my hand first for comfort. I couldn't feel a thing, so he used the tool all over my face, explaining that it helped close open skin from the waxing. As always, the waxing was accompanied by a gorgeous makeover. I think the makeover is a great idea as it allows customers to try out their makeup products for free. I've had the BB cream and Mineral Matte Foundation applied and really like the formula, they both provided great coverage without feeling or looking cakey.
I'm definitely impressed with Caryl Baker Visage's services and would absolutely recommend them. It's in a great location too, right at Bay station, so it's super convenient to stop by and get a waxing, facial or shop for cosmetics.

If you've been to Visage, what is your favourite service/product?

Glossybox USA is now shipping to Canada. I loved Glossybox Canada and was so sad when they shut down. Glossybox USA sent emails in mid October about their new availability to Canadians for an extra $5. Also the price is in USD, so the conversion rate becomes a big pain. I ended up paying $30.44 CAD for this box. I decided to try out a couple months to see if it was worth it financially as well as personally. I realize this post is SUPER late, but I've been *trying* to stay focused on exams. Now that they're over with, here is what was in the November Glossybox!
Kneipp Herbal Bath: Balancing in Lavender
Full size: 3.38 fl oz for $20
Sample: 0.67 fl oz for $4
12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment
Full size: 6 oz for $20
Sample: 1.5 oz for $5
Kryolan for Glossybox Blusher in Glossy Pink
Full size: $16.17
*I love this blush. This my second one, my first being from one of the Glossybox Canada boxes.
Juice Beauty  Green Apple Age Defy Moisturizer
Full size: 2 oz for $45
Sample: 0.5 oz for $11.25
OPI Pink Outside the Glossybox
Full size: 0.5 oz for $9.50

Total value: $45.92

I'm disappointed in the November Glossybox. This was the first box from Glossybox USA to Canada and I thought they would try to wow us. My favourite item in this box is the nail polish, because quite frankly I won't use anything else in the box. I hope the December box is much better!

This year was my first year going to IMATS and it definitely will not be my last.
I expected IMATS to be more of a convention where beauty enthusiasts came to learn about the application of make up, but it seemed like a huge warehouse sale, similar to the one at the CNE. There were shows on the stages throughout the day, but it was hard to watch them all because the first half of the day consisted in standing in line to ensure you got your purchases before stands sold out, which they definitely did. There was also a lot of pushing and shoving, not much system going on around the booths. I think MAC had the best system where you were given a number with your name so you could cash out whenever. Make Up Forever did a name call, which if you didn't hear your name your product would go back, and it was pretty hard to hear your name among the chatter.

Keep reading to see what I purchased, the booths that stood out to me and the giveaway!
The Pixiwoo sisters and I *fans self*

Morphe story:
When I was waiting in line for MAC, I was talking to a girl and she was so enthusiastic about the Morphe booth so I was determined to check it out. I knew I wanted a blush palette and a couple brushes. My friend was unsure and asked the sales associate to recommend some brushes, such as best sellers. I had already paid for my palette and was walking around looking at brushes with my friend. She asked the sales associate for a fluffy blending brush for eye shadows and  the sales associate gave her one, and she asked if there was a fluffier and rounder one and the sales associates response was "Look, you asked me for the best seller and that's what I'm giving you. It all about perspective, but this is a best seller. If you want something different then you can look."
Well then. Okay.
My friend ended up with 4 brushes and was told the total was $34, so she counted her change and it didn't add up. She asked me to count the change and it was indeed wrong.
So we told her she short changed us and another sales associate came to help, but the total was now $38. We said sorry and explained to the other sales associate we thought she said $34 and that's why we thought we were short, meanwhile she kept interjecting "No, honey. I told you it was $38. We went over it a couple times. I never said $34."
Well, yes, you did.
The second sales associate apologized about the miscommunication and we were on our way. I was going to buy some Morphe brushes too but decided bdellium tools was less troublesome.
