SKINCARE - Clean & Clear Acne Triple Clear Cleansing Clay Mask + EcoTools Facial Mask Mates
I generally
try not to review two brands in one post, but I’m going to put it out there and
say that I hate the packaging of the Clean & Clear mask – I just don’t
understand why it comes in a jar rather than tube because masks in tubes are so
much more convenient to use. But then I remembered that I had EcoTools’ Facial
Mask Mates on hand and my problems were solved! They really do go hand in hand,
so that’s why I decided to write a double review!
Clear's
Acne Triple Clear Cleansing Clay Mask is both a mask and a cleanser, claiming
to absorb pore-clogging oils and to clean deep into pores. This mask contains
salicylic acid to help fight acne, along with aloe and peppermint to help
soothe the skin.
When I first applied this mask, I noticed that it is more liquid and light compared to other clay masks that I’ve used. This allows for an easy, even, and smooth application, especially when using the EcoTools Mask Applicator Brush. The mask is supposed to sit for 2-3 minutes before rinsing, as directed by the packaging, but I have left it on for about 10-15 minutes and found that it still doesn't completely dry. Upon application, I found that it provides a cooling effect while also giving a slight sting, but it’s not uncomfortable. In terms of effectiveness, I haven't noticed much of a difference in my complexion, but that might be because a lot of my acne is under the surface.

When removing the mask, the EcoTools’ Mask Remover Sponge makes it so darn easy - simply damp the sponge and wipe away the mask. Using the Mask Remover Sponge is my new preferred way of removing masks because it provides minimal back splash – after all, we can’t wash our faces like the commercials do without having to mop up the mess. This actually helps me out so much because I used to only use masks before a shower to prevent the mess, but now I can mask whenever without worry about it.
Between the two, I believe the EcoTools’ Facial Mask Mates has definitely changed the masking game for me and would definitely recommend it to anyone who dreads post-mask cleanup. Clear's Acne Triple Clear Cleansing Clay Mask on the other hand is going to be a meh from me.
