Pink Petals

As part of their Spring/Summer 2017 Collection, Essence launched a new line of Matt Matt Matt Lipstick. As you've probably guess by the name, it's a line of matte lipsticks and are available in 8 shades.
The below swatches are in order according to it's number (ie. 01 Natural Kiss, 08 It's a Statement).
These lipsticks are pretty pigmented and don't dry completely matte. The finish is more like a glossy matte, which I prefer because it doesn't make your lips look like a desert. Although these lipsticks claim to be long lasting, they definitely transfer easily and will most likely need touch ups throughout the day if you're going out and eating. The lipsticks do leave a light stain though in case you're not a fan of touch ups, but with a price of $4.49 each I'm not complaining

What's your favourite matte lip colour?
My favourite colour in the line has to be 02 Perfect Match - it's basically my MLBB shade.

Every season Essence releases some new shades in their gel nail polish line. I got to try some new pinks that have been added.
These shades just about scream Spring and Summer and bring a bright yet subtle pop of colour. I'm wearing 75 Perfect Match, a lovely salmon pink that just so happens to match this season's Rock n Doll mascara tube. On my accent nail, I'm wearing 86 My Sparkling Darling, a pink fine glitter polish, layered on top of 82 Hula Hoop, a pale pink with a lavender undertone.
I have always been a fan of Essence's gel polishes - they're pigmented and dry fairly quickly. For $2.99, these polishes are a steal and do the job well.

What's your go-to Spring/Summer shade?

Back it again with another Mani Monday! This Mani Monday features Essence's Gel Nail Polish in Be Awesome Tonight!, a pretty light pink polish.
This colour was released for this Fall and this Fall only. I've previously expressed my love for Essence's gel polishes, but this one just doesn't cut it for me. I find the application streaky and uneven  - like most white based polishes.

How do you even out streaky nail polish? I just get lazy and leave it as is... hehe.

This is my first time trying the Essence Gel polishes, and I've got to say I'm pretty impressed. Retailing at $2.99, these gel polishes are probably the best deal out there. They dry fairly quickly, apply smoothly, and lasted about a week for me.
I'm wearing the shade Grey Zone, which is a gorgeous light grey. This is not yet in stores but will be released as part of Essence's Fall/Winter 2016 Collection and this shade, as well as a couple of others, will be sold exclusive in Loblaws.

Have you tried Essence Gel Polishes? Which colour is your favourite?

Essence is SUPER affordable and the quality of their polishes always amaze me.
Essence's I Love Trends line includes The Nudes, a bunch of gorgeous nude polishes. nude sweet nude is a lovely pink toned gold, more pink than rose gold, but still remains an elegant colour rather than coppery. I love that the colour is so opaque when applied - only one coat needed! It also dries really fast which is a huge bonus. I decided to attempt a gradient glitter accent nail using OPI's Rose of Light.

Essence hosts a lot of social media giveaways and I recently won one via their Instagram!
Due to a very long delivery time (like 3 weeks), Essence sent me two prizes which include:
Metal Glam Eyeshadow - Chocolate Jewelery
All About Eyeshadow - Chocolates
Silky Touch Blush - Adorable
XXXL Shine Lipgloss - Just Georgeous
XXXL Nude Lipgloss - Just Nude
Long Lasting Eye Pencil - Hot Chocolate
Long Lasting Lipstick - It's Nude Time
Long Lasting Lipstick - All You Need is Red
I Love Trends Polish - Nude Sweet Nude

Onto the swatches!

Starting with the top right,  is Metal Glam in Chocolate Jewelery. It's a beautiful chocolate brown with chunks of glitter on the top layer and a bit of shimmer in the powder itself. I would prefer it without the layer of chunky glitter on top though.

Below that are the swatches from the All About Chocolates palette - I swatched them in columns from top to bottom. The eyeshadows are pretty pigmented and have a silky finish with a slight shimmer which you can see better in the second photo in direct sunlight.

Starting from the top right is the Silky Touch Blush in Adorable which is a light rose pink. I LOVE their blushes because they are quite pigmented. I initially thought this blush would be too light for my skin tone but it provides a beautiful light flush to the cheeks.

Next up is the XXXL Nude Lipgloss and It's Nude Time Lipstick.  I'm just going to mention that I really don't like nude lips. It looks great on other people, but I just look washed out and sick. The lipgloss and lipstick both have a pink tone and apply sheer. Still too light for my skin though! :(

The XXL Shine Lipgloss and All You Need is Red Lipstick on the other hand are amazing.

Lastly is the Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Hot Chocolate is a twist up eyeliner that is super creamy, pigmented and easy to use. I pretty much love any twist up eyeliner but this one is definitely a great one given it's quality and price.

Have you won any contests lately?

Essence has a line of products that are super affordable and this week I've decided to try some of their lip products.
Essence lipstick, xxxl lipgloss and lip liner
Essence lipstick, xxxl lipgloss and lip liner swatchI decided to purchase:
Sheer Shiny Lipstick - Miss Peach
XXXL Shine Lipgloss - True Love
Lipliner - In the Nude & Wish Me a Rose
Essence lip liner in nude and wish me a rose
The essence lipliners are really creamy, making it easy to apply. They're creamy enough that they don't define cracks/dry lips too much - something I often have - and they don't last more than a couple hours, so reapplication is needed throughout the day.
essence xxl lip gloss in true love
The XXXL Shine Lipgloss apply sheer and aren't too sticky. They provide a nice shine and glimmer to the lips.
essence lipstick in miss peach
The Sheer Shiny Lipstick is just as the name describes it. It applies smoothly and is a bit more pigmented than a tinted lip balm. The lipstick stains a little, so it provides a light colour as it fades throughout the day.

What's your favourite essence lip product?
