Pink Petals

I wasn't sure if I was getting a box this month because I unsubscribed in January and didn't know when they charged for the next box. I received some emails regarding shipping but still haven't even received the tracking information for this box. I went to get the mail anyways and there it was! Here's what I got in this month's Luxe Box.
Bourjois | Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation (53-Light Beige)
Full size: 30 ml ($27)
Sample: 3 x 0.95 ml ($2.56)
Pandora's Makeup Box | Mascara (Black)
Full size: 10 ml ($19)
Sample: FULL SIZE
 Coach | Coach Love
Full size: 1.7 oz ($72)
Sample: 0.22 oz ($9.32)
Loose Button | Sponge Applicator
Estimated Value: $5
Lancome | Genifique You Activating Concentrate
Full size: 1 oz ($95)
Sample: 0.27 oz ($25.65)
KMS California | Free Shape Quick Blowdry
Full size: 6.8 oz ($18)
Sample: 1 oz ($2.65)
L'Occitane en Provence | Shea Butter Hand Cream
Full size: 30 ml ($12)
Sample: 10 ml ($4)

Total Value: $68.18

Gahh. After seeing some other Luxe Boxes that subscribers received this month, I was so hoping that I didn't pay for this one. Too bad I did, I'm so disappointed. The only things I like in this box are the mascara and the perfume. I really really REALLY hate anti-aging serums and creams, which happened to be the one thing that was most valuable in this box. You may be wondering why I only gave the sponge a value of $5, it's because I ordered a 'beauty blender' style sponge on eBay for $2 and I can't tell the difference between the two. *Sigh* I feel like beauty boxes are quickly going downhill, boo :(.

Which beauty box was your favourite this month?

I've decided to try and attempt chevron nails without using tape because it can be hard cutting tape without it sticking together. I looked around my room and found those hole punch stickers which I never ever use. Turns out that they're really good because you can use the edges as a guide to cut the corners and will almost always end up with the perfect V. I finally remembered to take pictures along the way to share how I did it. So here are my results and picture tutorial :).
Nicole OPI - Kim Konfidential (Kim Kardishian)
Julep - Niecy

How to cut the stickers:
The base should be completely dry before you put the stickers on. If the stickers don't fully reach to the side of your nail, stretch the sticker so that the V is wide. Then put a thin layer on top of the stickers because a thick layer will take very long to dry, and it must be COMPLETELY dry when you take off the stickers or else the colour contorts.
It might look choppy at first but a layer of clear polish will smooth it out :)

Hope this picture tutorial worked for you :)

My boyfriend recently purchased a Julep gift card for me when they had the buy $50 for $25 promo so I was waiting to spend some of it in the Secret Store since the gift cards are not valid on subscriptions. Julep's Secret Store is open on the 1st of every month an contain a lot of good package deals. The catch is that the store is "supposed" to be only open for those who purchased that month's subscription box. Sneaky me, I got into it without the subscription >:) hehe. Once in, the Pastel Paradise immediately caught my eye, especially since Easter and Spring are soon approaching and I can't wait! :) Here's what was included in the Pastel Paradise set.
Sample: Glycolic Hand Scrub
Sally - American Beauty: Antique ivory crème
Renee - American Beauty: Spring lilac crème

Courteney - American Beauty: Key lime green crème
Georgia - Boho Glam: Peachy micro shimmer
Susie - Classic With A Twist: Delicious mint green crème

What was your best deal at the Secret Store?
And it might be just me, but does anyone else miss the glitter pots? They were so cute!

This week I kept it simple with Julep's Lynn and Sally Hansen's Golden-I for my accent nail. When I initially saw Lynn, I wasn't very fond of the colour because it seemed like a sheer and shimmery pink. I hate polishes that go on sheer because it looks so nice in the bottle but takes 10 coats on the nails for the same colour. Lynn proved me wrong, I only needed 2 coats of Lynn to make it opaque and the colour is a gorgeous nude-pink. I've never been so in love with a pink before and am so glad I got this in Cupid's Mystery Box.
I've been looking for a good nude/natural nail colour but can't seem to find one, any suggestions?

Spring is right around the corner and I think transitioning from deep to vibrant polishes is the best way to start off the season! Here I am wearing My Lifesaver by OPI which is a beautiful opaque mint blue. On my ring finger, I drew a cherry blossom branch, mimicking Arizona's Green Tea design.
These are all the polishes I used to create this simple look.

I used Revlon's Calcium Gel Hardener as a base and followed with OPI's My Lifesaver. For the design, draw the branches using a black striper. Next, I got the tip of a toothpick and dotted flower petals and buds on the branches with Sally Hansen's Rose-a-go-go. I then used OPI's Studio Mama to make small little white dots on the buds to add detail and also in the center of the flowers. This was for the next step, which was to dot the center of the flowers with a yellow polish, mine was sheer so the white/pink base helped the colour pigmentation. Finish off with your favourite top coat :)

What's your go-to Spring nail colour?

Last week, Pink Beryl emailed Loose Button past and present subscribers and offered a free pair of stockings for 24 hours. I jumped on the chance and was amazed that when they meant free, they literally meant free! No shipping charges or additional monthly purchases needed. For those who don't know, Pink Beryl is a monthly subscription for stockings where you can choose 1 pair a month ($12) or 2 pairs a month ($20). To determine your style, you take a quiz when you sign up, but don't fret if it doesn't match you because you always have the option to choose from a list of styles :).
At first, I thought that $12 for a pair of stockings was kind of pricey because I always buy the cheaper kind since I'm so accident prone and end up tearing all my stockings. However, after getting my first order from Pink Beryl, I might subscribe when I start making money again because these stockings are AMAZING! When I opened the package, I was surprised to see that there were clear and black rhinestones on the stockings. The picture of Olivia that Pink Beryl had seemed like it just had random white dots. They're not too thin and not too thick and don't seem like they're going to rip on my any time soon. I really like these tights and think they're so much cuter more unique than the plain ol' black stockings.

Have you tried Pink Beryl before? If you're interested, please use my referral link here, please and thank you! :)
