I was recently accepted to an Chick Advisor campaign where I was asked to show off my style with TWIK by Maison Simons. I got sorted into Group Two and the selections we were given were extremely cute, wearable and work appropriate, which are things that I tend to keep in mind when purchasing clothes now that I'm entering the adult world.
Although it was tempting to buy everything, I narrowed down my selection to things I would actually wear rather than things I just wanted. This lead me to buying a sweater, top and skirt.
Outfit #1: Fall Outings
This mock turtle neck sweater is so soft, cosy and not itchy! (Darn you acrylic sweaters!) I wasn't sure how I would like the style on me because it's fairly loose, but it looks great. I'm a huge fan of turtle necks, but it can sometimes feel constricting to wear. With this sweater though, you don't feel that at all. It's also pretty warm and the perfect top to tuck into a skirt or a pair of jeans. In terms of fit, I'd say it fits pretty true to size but its a loose fit to begin with - but in a flattering way. I really like this sweater and will probably pick up another one in Dusty Rose.
I love this skirt because it looks great and is so in trend with the Fall season. Although the website states it's a velvet skirt, it's actually more of a velvety corduroy material. The skirt is the perfect length, well built and the zipper is sturdy. In terms of sizing, I'm between a Small/Medium and found the Small to fit great sitting at a high waist, but if you want it to sit a bit lower then order a size down.
Outfit #2: Study Days
I have been looking for a long grey cardigan for months now that feels nice and isn't too bulky and I've finally found it. Although this cardigan isn't featured in the Group Two looks, it is from the TWIK collection. This waffle cardigan fits comfortably and a great addition to your wardrobe for the Fall season. It is the perfect sweater for casual days where you can just throw this on top of a t-shirt and jeans - I literally wear this like 80% of the time when I'm at school.
Overall, I'm really impressed with the TWIK line by Maison Simons. They're great quality items, affordable and true to size. The only downside is that there is only one location in the GTA (Square One) for those who prefer to shop in person, but fortunately online orders have free shipping over $100 and free returns too.
Where do you buy most of your clothes from? I'm an Old Navy / Joe Fresh kinda girl.
Let's be friends!
